Front-Mounting
Nut Retainers
Front-Mounting Nut Retainers are quickly tipped into the mounting
hole from the front side and drifted into locked position
behind the panel with a simple awl-like tool. Their spring
legs provide spring tension to hold the retainers in bolt-receiving
position and allow slight lateral movement to compensate for
possible hole misalignment. Blind assembly costs are cut in
half with these fasteners.

Two wing-like spring legs at either side of the captive nut
provide spring tension to hold the retainers in bolt-receiving
position and allow slight lateral movement to compensate for
possible hole misalignment. A shallow emboss allows flush
mounting of mating panels.
Applied after the painting and welding of panels, they eliminate
masking or retapping operations due to paint clogging or weld
flash. Quick removal is accomplished with a reversal of the
assembly method and is possible without damage to the part
or panel. Front-Mounting Nut Retainers
are available for a wide range of screw sizes and panel
thickness.
How to apply Front-Mounting Nut Retainers
Tip the long section of the retainer through the panel hole.
With the spring legs riding on top of the panel, insert a
simple pin, tilt the retainer parallel with the panel and
slide rearward until the captive nut locks in the panel hole. |
