HO - Metric Axial Rings
Internal Inch Ring - Once installed in the groove of a housing/bore,
the portion of the ring protruding from the groove (also called
a "shoulder") holds an assembly in place. Size Ranges:

SH - Metric Axial Rings
External Inch Ring - Once installed in the groove of a shaft, the
portion of the ring protruding from the groove (also called
a "shoulder") holds an assembly in place. Size Ranges:
SH--.125-10.0 Inches; DSH-3.0mm-400mm; MSH--.4mm-100mm.

HOI - Metric Axial Rings
Internal Inverted Inch Ring - Functions like an HO ring in a housing/bore,
only the lugs are "reversed." This version reduces
the distance the lugs of the standard HO extend into the inner
circumference of the housing/bore and allows for another assembly
to pass through unimpeded.
Size Range: HOI--.625-4 Inches; DHI-12mm-100mm.

SHI - Metric Axial Rings
External Inverted Inch Ring - Functions like an SH ring on a shaft,
only the lugs are "reversed." This version reduces
the distance the lugs of the standard SH extend beyond the circumference
of the shaft. The shaft can then be used in an application where
clearance is minimal.
Size Range: SHI--.500-3.98 Inches; DSI-12mm-100mm.

SHR - Metric Axial Rings
External Reinforced Inch Ring - An extra thick version of a regular
SH retaining ring. As such, it is stronger and can withstand
greater thrust loads than its standard counterpart. Size Range:
SHR--.394-2.0 Inches; DSR-12mm-100mm, MSR—10mm-50mm.
